St. Louis Blues vs. Nashville Predators
Time: 8:00 P.M. EDT
TV: FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, FanDuel Sports Network South
Head-to-Head: Blues Lead 1-0
The two rivals met in St. Louis in late December. The Blues won a high-scoring game, 7-4. The Blues and Predators will see a lot of each other these next two weeks. After Tuesday, the two teams will meet in St. Louis this Sunday before finishing the season series in Nashville on March 27th.
Blues Coming Off Strong Weekend
The surging Blues are coming off a productive weekend. The team beat the playoff-bound Minnesota Wild and rebuilding Anaheim Ducks to claim an important four points. The Blues outscored both teams 12-3. Furthermore, multiple players had standout performances this weekend. Jordan Kyrou had three goals and three assists, including a hat trick on Saturday. Jake Neighbours had two goals and an assist. Brayden Schenn scored two goals, picked up an assist, and even got into a fight. Dylan Holloway had one goal and two assists. Cam Fowler and Justin Faulk each had three assists. Joel Hofer and Jordan Binnington combined for 40 saves on 43 shots
The Blues continue to play outstanding hockey and are right in the thick of the playoff chase. A case could be made that the Blues should be the favourites to grab the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. Needless to say, this is the most fun Blues fans have had watching hockey in a few years.
Predators Looking to Snap Small Skid
The Predators, once considered a Stanley Cup contender at the beginning of the season, are trying to play out the remaining games of the season on a high note before heading into the summer wondering what went wrong. Unfortunately for Preds fans, the team is on a small two-game losing streak. No offence has been the story of this skid. The team only scored one goal in a loss to the Ducks on Friday. The next night, the Predators were shut out by the Los Angeles Kings in a 1-0 overtime loss.
If there is a silver lining for the Preds offence, it has seen success against the Blues going back to last season. In their one meeting this season, the Predators scored four goals. Last season, the Predators scored 20 goals in three games against the Blues. This includes an eight-goal game in St. Louis.
Prediction
We are expecting a high-scoring game on Tuesday. However, we are going to get wild and predict a rather wild score. We believe that, for the first time since last February, we will see a team score ten goals. Which team will that be? We believe it will be the surging Blues.
Blues win, 10-3.
Prop Bets
The over/under is set at 5.5 goals. We are clearly taking the over with 13 goals.
We are going to choose Kyrou as an anytime-scorer for the Blues. Furthermore, we think Kyrou notches another hat trick. If he does so, he will reach the 30-goal mark once again. For the Predators, we are taking former Blues captain Ryan O’Reilly to score.
We would like to note that should our bold prediction not happen, we are prepared to eat crow. Anything tastes good when it’s doused in hot sauce.
